Some days you don't want to share the boat. This is the whole kaiki for one group — up to ten of you, the captain, and nobody else aboard. What changes when the boat is yours is the pace. Nobody is waiting for you to get out of the water, and nothing has to be timed around a group of strangers. Tell us beforehand what matters most to you — more time swimming, more coastline, fishing lines out — and we'll build it into the day where the conditions allow. Some things the sea decides for us. The rest we can shape around you. You'll be sailing a traditional Greek fishing boat, restored by hand by the captain himself, through Europe's largest marine protected area: the National Marine Park of Alonissos and Northern Sporades, a 2,260 km² sanctuary of clear water, hidden bays and untouched coastline. The day follows the coast of Alonissos and the wild shores of Peristera, with anchor stops in bays that have no road and no path down to them — you can only arrive by boat. Which bays depends on the morning. Captain Georgeos reads the wind and the water and chooses the calmest and clearest water available that day, the same way he has since he was a boy on these waters. Lunch is set out on deck around midday: a spread of cold Greek mezze, put together that same morning by the captain's mother — vine leaves, fried aubergine, eggs from her own hens, salad and bread. Drinks throughout. Let us know about allergies or dietary needs when you book, or if there's something you'd particularly like on the table, and she'll see what she can do. It suits an occasion. A birthday, an anniversary, a family gathered on the island for once, a last day of a holiday nobody wants to end quietly. Tell us if you're celebrating and we'll play our part.
